Perimeter Fencing for Yards, Storage Sites and Retail Lots

Our crews work occupied properties, setting panels in sections so the loading dock, the delivery lane and the customer entrance stay usable. Backed by 14 years in business, we have completed over 1,127 projects, from one walk-through gate to long perimeter runs.

From the boundary survey and the post layout to the gate tie-in and the closeout walk, our team handles the pieces of a perimeter job that decide whether the line holds. Serving Leander and neighboring Sunset Valley, Georgetown and Cedar Park, deliveries follow the site's schedule, installs run after hours when the property asks, and the finished line is tested before the fire marshal walks it.

Send us your boundary length, your fence height and your target dates, and we will schedule a site walk.

Calvin ran a retail back lot on Brodie Lane in Sunset Valley with a loading dock, and he needed 300 linear ft of 6 ft anti-climb steel panels that left the dock reachable for trucks. We ran the panels in sections along the property line, framed the dock opening with its own gate and kept one lane open for deliveries throughout. The job was an estimated $18,200 to $24,600, took an estimated 3 to 4 days, and the store never closed.

Panel Height, Top Rail and Picket Spacing Decide the Climb Risk

Climb resistance comes from the profile of the panel, not the height alone, which is why Elena's 16 ft single leaf in Steiner Ranch is anti-climb steel with shielded hinges. A flat top with a close picket gives no foothold, while a spear top adds a visual deterrent and an arched rail suits a street frontage.

What a Perimeter Bid Names

A perimeter bid names the line length, the panel height, the post spacing, the gate openings and the grade method, so two bids can be compared post for post, whether the line is a 55 linear ft run of forged iron or 300 linear ft of steel.

Tube schedule
11-gauge frame tube with 14-gauge infill as the starting point, moved up a size when a leaf runs past 14 feet
Coating order
Blast, zinc primer, then polyester powder cured in the oven, with touch-up kits left on site for later scratches
Footing plan
Belled concrete piers 36 inches or deeper, with depth and rebar decided by what the auger hits at each post
Infill gap
Our shop spec keeps openings under 4 inches on anything near a pool or a walkway, drawn and measured before the coat goes on
Hinge load
Sealed ball-bearing hinges rated well past the finished leaf weight, with a greasable option on heavy pairs
Grade method
Racked panels on gentle ground and stepped sections on steep lots, with rise-and-run hinges for a drive that climbs
Top profile
Flat top, spear, arched or anti-climb rail, chosen against the HOA book and the security goal
Bottom gap
Clearance set from the high point of the drive arc, usually 2 to 4 inches, so a crowned slab never drags the leaf

Where the Fence Meets the Gate

A fence line is only as secure as the gate in it, so the gate hardware is bid with the panels, as with Bradley's 14 ft pair in Cedar Park at Silverado. A truck gate on a retail lot is typically a trackless cantilever slide gate at an estimated $6,300 to $9,700, and a walk-through entry gate beside it is typically an estimated $700 to $1,400 over an estimated 4 to 8 hours. A track-mounted slide gate for a tight lot is typically an estimated $1,800 to $4,900.

Keeping a Loading Dock Working During the Install

A loading dock stays open during a fence install when the panels go up in sections and the dock opening is built last, whether the site is in Sunset Valley, Georgetown or Lakeway. At Calvin's lot, delivery trucks used the dock while the panels on either side went in, and we closed the opening only for the final gate hang.

For an operating yard, the same approach holds. Terrence's distribution yard on Chisholm Trail Road in Round Rock stayed open with about 60 trucks a day while its 28 ft cantilever went in.

Perimeter Fencing Budget Ranges

Fence lines are budgeted per linear foot, and an open-view steel fence typically runs an estimated $51 to $84 per linear foot over an estimated 2 to 4 days. A hand-forged iron fence for a street frontage typically runs an estimated $86 to $129 per linear foot over an estimated 3 to 6 days. For an amenity area, a pool barrier typically comes in at an estimated $31 to $45 per linear foot and takes an estimated 1 to 3 days.

Fire Access and Permits on a Perimeter Job

A fenced site still needs a way in for the fire department, and we ask about it before the layout is signed. Round Rock publishes guidelines for emergency access controlled gate systems that call for a city-approved Knox key switch, and sites in Steiner Ranch and Lakeway fall to Lake Travis Fire Rescue. For Leander, check with the city on permits and the Fire Marshal's Office on access. Leander straddles the Williamson and Travis County line, so we confirm which side a site sits on first.

Towns We Serve for Perimeter Fencing Work

We bid perimeter work across a 35-mile radius, from Calvin's Brodie Lane lot in Sunset Valley to Terrence's yard in Round Rock. Patrice's entry at Ranch at Cypress Creek in Cedar Park and Alma's five-gate plan at Lohmans Crossing in Lakeway sit inside the same radius, as do Georgetown, Volente and The Hills. Owners who want the residential side of what we build can begin at our Leander home page.

Why Facility Managers Stay With Us

Property managers choose us for 14 years of work across 1,127 projects, with one crew measuring, setting posts and testing every gate. A 2-year workmanship warranty covers weld integrity, post plumb, hinge alignment and gate sag, and the powder coat is backed by touch-up kits left on site.

Perimeter Fencing Questions From Buyers

How much does commercial security fencing cost?

An open-view steel fence typically runs an estimated $51 to $84 per linear foot, and the written quote sets the final price for your line.

How long does a perimeter install take?

An open-view fence line is typically an estimated 2 to 4 days, and Calvin's 300 linear ft in Sunset Valley took an estimated 3 to 4 days.

Can the business stay open during the install?

Yes, Calvin's retail lot kept its loading dock reachable while the panels went in, and Terrence's yard in Round Rock kept about 60 trucks a day moving.

What makes a panel anti-climb?

A flat top, a close picket and a smooth rail leave no foothold, which is why we bid 6 ft anti-climb panels behind a store with a loading dock.

Do you build the gates too?

Yes, a trackless cantilever slide gate typically runs an estimated $6,300 to $9,700 and a walk-through gate an estimated $700 to $1,400, bid with the fence.

How is the finish protected?

The coating order is blast, zinc primer, then polyester powder cured in the oven, with touch-up kits left on site.

Who covers the work after install?

Our 2-year workmanship warranty covers weld integrity, post plumb, hinge alignment and gate sag, and a service plan typically runs an estimated $89 to $112 per gate per month for an estimated 1 to 3 hours a visit.

The order of work

Four Steps Between a Bare Opening and a Working Gate

  1. Walk the lot

We tape the opening, shoot the slope and check the HOA or town rules before anyone prices steel.

  2. Approve the drawing

You sign one scaled sheet listing frame size, coating and operator, and that sheet doubles as your review board packet.

  3. Weld and coat

Frames are welded in the shop and coated before delivery, so no grinding or spray paint happens on your drive.

  4. Hang, wire and prove it

Footings cure, then the leaf is hung and wired, and we run each safety device with you standing there.
